Quarantine is really starting to get to me! I am a busybody who always wants to be out with friends and family doing something! My plans normally consist of going out to eat, escape rooms and Fort Worth bars. Unfortunately, most of those places are still closed down. So, I decided I wanted to do a picnic for my birthday! We were able to spread out and still enjoy each other’s company.
Picnics are a fun idea to do for a lot of reasons. You can get a group of friends together to hang out, go out for a day date, or have a fun family outing! Here are some ideas we had to put in our picnic basket to make the picnic extra special.
Picnic Blanket: You can use a regular blanket or get some beach towels to spread out as well. Target has some really cute beach towels right now! The blanket keeps the bugs out of your food and gives you a comfy place to sit!
Finger foods: You don’t want anything too messy! Finger foods are the easiest option because they are made to eat with your hands. Fruit is another great option as well as sandwiches. These are fun because everyone can make what they want ahead of time and have their own.
Drinks: We found this fun non-alcoholic sparkling cider that is flavored like rose! Very fun and an easy way to make your picnic feel a little fancy!
Dessert: What picnic isn’t complete without dessert? Cookies are a great option because they aren’t too messy and easy to pack. Cupcakes are also a great option because then you don’t have to worry about cutting anything up!
Decorations: Now, nature will do most of the decorating for you. But, if you want to add a little something special, especially if you are doing your picnic for date night, why not add some pretty flowers in a vase! We used an old apple juice bottle and some roses to spice up the table.
A Cute Basket: Putting everything in a picnic basket makes for a great picture to help remember the day! Plus, it’s functional to put all of your items in to carry to your perfect picnic spot!
I hope you enjoyed reading about our fun picnic. If you go out on a picnic, share your baskets with us over on instagram! @lifewithsomesugar
