Have you been wanting to try the trending DIY Clay Face Mask? I know I have!I have noticed a lot of blackheads here lately, so tonight I did a little research, mixed up my face mask and got started! I saw that most people used apple cider vinegar with their mask. While I was a little weary I gave it a try!
I did not do extensive research, but what I did learn is that the negative charged clay pulls the positive charged gunk out of your nose. The gunk is toxins, bacteria, viruses and more! The vinegar is good to break down dead skin and dirt. So these together make a great team!
Here is the mixture I used:
- 1 part bentonite Indian clay
- 1.5 parts apple cider vinegar
*do not mix in or use metal. It changes the charge of the mask*
About 5 minutes in, the smell was so strong and my face was tingling. I honestly was not sure I would make it the full 15-20 minutes. Around minute 10 or so I went ahead and took it off! My face was very red for about 20 minutes after, but that is normal. The blood is drawn to the surface during this and will go down. As soon as I took it off I used a blackhead extractor and removed anything remaining off my face. It was a lot softer than before and it seemed my pores were larger to allow the gunk out. Lastly, I wiped down my face with cold water to close my pores and then wiped it all with micellar water! My nose looked SO much better!
I will definitely be using this face mask again! Next time, I will probably experiment with less apple cider vinegar and maybe some essential oils to help make the smell less potent and soothe my skin a little more.
Overall, you should def do this mask!!! You will be shocked with the results! Maybe even take before and after pictures to see the difference!
