Ever since I have discovered avocado toast, I have been hooked! It’s such as easy breakfast or a quick snack on the weekends when I’m not teaching. There are a lot of ways to mix it up as well, which makes it versatile. Here is the recipe for the basic version I like to make.
Ingredients:
- 2 pieces of bread (what ever is your favorite type)
- 1 large avocado
- Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning
- 1 Lemon
Directions:
- Cut your avocado in half. Slice up one half and put into a bowl. Mash with a fork until it is mashed up with some small chunks still left.
- TIP: If you are only using half, keep the half with the pit for later. It will help keep it longer. You can use both halves but I usually just use one. You can put some lemon juice on it and save the other half for a salad later in the day or just eat it on it’s own (delicious)!
- Place your bread in the toaster and wait for it to get toasted!
- Once you have your toast, take your mashed avocado and spread onto the two slices of bread.
- Sprinkle the Everything But the Bagel Sesame seasoning from Trader Joes. This stuff is AMAZING! I completely understand the hype haha If you don’t have the seasoning, you can buy it from Amazon HERE. You can also top it with salt and pepper!
- To finish up, squeeze a little bit of lemon juice on top and you are done!
Optional: If you like a little heat, you can add some hot sauce on top. It is also delicious with a fried egg on top if you are looking for some protein with your meal. Get creative with your toppings and enjoy!
